Here’s a current picture of me!
I haven’t been on or very active here in a while, but I’m going to change that. I won’t spend all my time on my tumblr, but I would like to use it as a way to keep better track of my goals, inspirations, and motivations. Things have been pretty dark lately, but I’m ready for them to get better. I’ll make that happen!

Eugenia Loli must have a wicked sense of humor because her photo collages crack me up. I can’t quite put my finger on why they’re funny, but maybe it’s the combination of vintage, 1950s imagery with scary, apocalyptic themes. The two very different tones seem to collide in her series of beautifully surreal images. .

Books are finite, sexual encounters are finite, but the desire to read and to fuck is infinite; it surpasses our own deaths, our fears, our hopes for peace.

"I love playing someone who has so much integrity, who has so much joy and so much life—even though her life is now in prison. She’s locked up, but she’s able to build up joy anyway."

“When I was eight, I was confused about being called ‘bossy’ because I wanted to direct the plays that we would put on for our parents. But the boys were not. When at 14, I started to be sexualized by certain elements of the media. When at 15, my girlfriends started dropping out of their beloved sports teams because they didn’t want to appear ‘muscle-y.’ When at 18, my males friends were unable to express their feelings; I decided that I was a feminist.”

If men don’t have to be aggressive, women won’t be compelled to be submissive. If men don’t need to control, women won’t have to be controlled. Both men and women should feel free to be strong. It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals. We should stop defining each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by who we are.
